This is a breakdown of the shot transitions and where they occur that we used throughout our trailer:
0:17, 0:20, 0:23, 0:25, 0:27, 0:31, 0:33 - These are all the points in which the transition between shots was a fade to black, using a cross fade and our reason for doing this is we noticed that in horror trailers it is often conventional because it gives a sense of unease when the equilibrium is being established. We applied these alongside the individual piano notes because these combined make more of an uneasy effect.
0:36, 0:37, 0:38 - To establish the development of time, we used quick cuts when the bath scenes are first introduced, so with the bath running and Ruby (Lilith) getting into it.
0:54 to 0:58 - Here is when we included the glitch effect over a black screen, to do this we found a glitch video on youtube and then fitted it onto the scene premiere as an overlay, we also changed to opacity of it so that the bath scenes were still visible through it. This transition also occurs at 1:10 with the alleyway scene.
When the music and pace of the trailer starts to pick up, majority of the shot transitions are quite quick cuts in order to give the desired effect of panic and a build up within the trailer, this occurs from around 1:21 onwards.
